Stewart A. McDowell papers [manuscript], 1918-1919.

The collection contains McDowell's diary of his war service with the 96th Bombardment Squadron, April 26, 1918 to September 12, 1918, when he and pilot Charles Codman were shot down and became German prisoners of war. With the diary are notes from classroom lectures on aerial bombardment; two postcards, two photographs, clippings, his mess kit and a silk aviation imprinted pillow sham.
